Hello. I was wondering if anyone has bought and used the complete interior kit for Standard interior for a 68? The kit is cheap, only 479.00 for everything (carpet, headliner, front and rear seat covers, and all 4 door panels). I was wondering how this held up for anyone, and dod you have to modify parts to get them to fit, etc? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, JB
I have had good luck with classic (other than their outrageous shipping prices)
But they do try to pass off a lot of Camaro parts as Firebird.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. That seems really inexpensive for all those interior parts, I bet the door panels come in the "unassembled" state. I used PUI from Year one and have been very happy so far. PUI seems to be the best as far as the general consensus here. But all hinges on your budget of course.
I bought the equivalent C.I. kit for deluxe interior. Generally the quality was good, but not overly impressive. Carpet & headliner were fine, no issues. The door panels required some trimming with a razor on the back side to fit. Once they're 'custom fit', they look good. The seat covers didn't fit great, but that probably depends mostly on if you're replacing springs & foam. I replaced the foam with the lesser expensive brand they sell, and the covers are a little flat, but quality was OK. Overall in my opinion the kit was fine for a driver or modest show car but probably not for extensive showing.
I changed my interior from Ivy Gold to Black. I've purchased all the seat skins and front seat foams and door panels from NPD. They get there interiors from PUI which I have been told has the best quality for interiors. I've had my seats and rear quarter arm rests redone by a local shop and they were very happy with the PUI products, I too am happy with the quality of material. My 2 cents for what it's worth.
Pete i also have the ivy gold interior and i was wondering what are you going to do with all the plastics and metals? are you going to paint them or are you buying new? thanks
im only 15 but doing all the work on my bird, cant wait to get her on the road!
