Last month I spotted 2 Wheels packages bright green '67 Firebird H.O 400 at the Wal-Mart and bought them then next week, there's all sold out... This month I spotted 3 red '67 Firebird H.O 400 packages left over and only one left over "Johnny Lighting" '67 Firebird in stock, lucky got it. Have you seen them in stock yet? Hope you found 'em!
Here's pics of 'em on ebay.. dunno why the sellers bought the whole set of 'em from the Wal-Mart and then selling 'em on ebay...

This is my old pic of '67 1/2 Firebird (7/27/67) w/ '74 Pontiac 400/400 on Jan 1st, '90. She had original Tyrol Blue Ext. with Std. Dark Blue Int., 326 2bbl, 4spd, 2 traction bars, 1 of 6,078 built in '67. I'm the current owner of '67 Firebird 400 coupe with original code F-400 Option, 1 of 22,636 built in '67 with rare T400. My brother & I picked her up and brought her to my new home. It's original eng. & trans. are long gone. Has factory K-Gulf Turquoise under primer, had Ivory vinyl top. Has factory RH traction bar w/ 3.08 gear, J-custom option with original Deluxe Parchment Int., has rare fold down rear seat. I'll look for a good running '67 400/400 when it's done. Oh, it's an error H.O white side stripes on 400 package. I opened 1 green '67 and I'll try to remove white side stripes off or paint it's original bight green and then I'll open 1 red '67 then I'll painting it Tyrol Blue will looks beautiful color, my favorite. I had a 1967 that had original Tyrol Blue... she had been repainted 1 time baby blue by previous owner then I repainted her '88 GM blue in the early summer, 1988. It had very little green mixed with blue, not good but looks fine seen bellow my signature pic.

I saw the green ones, and promptly bought the 4 I found on the shelf so I could decorate my Christmas tree. Never saw the red ones. I guess I need to go back. That will make it easier for me so I don't have to paint the green ones red....
Picked up a green one at Walmart last weekend. There was only 1. Also did not see any red ones.

I Wouldn't put money on that!! I have one!.400, 400trans 670 heads and long branch manifolds.Partial original paint Had it at G.M nats in carlisle (took 1st)and great lakes firebird gathering (1st also) and ames performance show so you better make sure before you make a statement. Also as that goes, I also had a 68 Formula (yes I did say formula )It was a executive's car at gm.There were a lot of strange things back then and I happen to be lucky to own and have owned some of them.
My red '67 'Vert has white stripes, and it's neither a 400 HO nor a 326 HO. According to the build sheet and the billing information, I believe you could order Rally Stripes with any combination, including the 400 HO Motor option (L67?).
As for the right to the "Formula" name, I recall - though it's hazy - that the word "Formula" was owned by what is today F1 (The Formula One Group, I believe) and the rights to it were not owned by Pontiac until 1969 (or possibly 1970) when they also owned the rights to the name Trans Am. Somewhere else in memory I also recall that the word "formula" may have appeared in one of their Wide Track print ads, but not attached to the name of the car.
You're correct if the stripes actually have the "H.O." letters. That would NOT be correct for a 400, even with the 400HO motor.
From the posted picture I can't tell if the letters are there or not. And, I can't go buy one to check it out because my wife would kill me if I came home with another Firebird - even a Hotwheels!
I checked my red ones and green ones that have letters "H.O" on the white side stripes. I think 400's with factory H.O package is very rare that came out in 1967 and 1968 only. The Formula package came out from 1970 and up Firebirds, with factory Formula twin hood scoops not Trans Am package. In 1969 Trans Ams have factory twin long hood scoops with Ram Air package is not a formula package but that's similar to 1970 and up Firebird Formulas. I'll take some of pics of my six 1967 Firebirds 400 with H.O white side stripes then I'll post pics here for you to viewing them soon.

I took the day off to visit our local annual vehicle-related swap meet today.
Lookie what I found. I've been looking for one of the red ones for a while, but look at what all you Tyrol Blue wishers missed!
Now I have a green, red and blue!

The kid manning the booth at the swap meet said the blue ones were a newer release that came out significantly after the red and green ones hit the market together.
I had been looking for a red one since the inital release late last year. When I told him I already had a green one, he asked me if I had seen the blue one he had. I had missed it since I did not know they existed.

Die cast by M2 has a "Detroit Muscle" series (in orange see-thru boxes) that includes a '68 Firebird Sprint with correct hood and 'sprint' emblem behind front tire. These Sprint die casts incorrectly had hood scoops and side stripes but oh well, otherwise nice to see 'Sprints' represented in die cast. Available at Wal-Mart.
