Thought I would share some pictures of what the inside of a kickdown switch looks like. The switch was stuck and needed cleaning. I also needed to replace the plunger since it appeared mice had chewed it or just pitted badly from use but ended up using Por-15 putty to fill in the pits then sanded it down since I couldn't find a replacement plunger. The bracket in the pic is for a 2bbl and will be replaced with an aftermarket 4bbl bracket through Ames. They also sell the rubber boot to finish the detail. There are 8 indentations on the metal case that hold the plastic piece in on the back. A small blade screwdriver was used to carefully bend them out in order to remove the plastic piece.
I needed a plunger too, so I just installed a Lokar unit instead.
