I like challenges! If anyone has a 67-68 ragtop TRUE PHS 400 car that is a wreck or utter basketcase, I am game. Whether it has the engine or not doesn't matter. Must have a whole cowl and pillar, and the state of the title matters not, since we can get a title to an older car where I live. PM me or email me direct [email protected]

There was one like this listed on craigslist last summer. It was down in Iowa. (down for me)
They wanted something like $1500 for it. But when I looked at the pictures, I think all you were buying was the data plate. The body was completely junk, and there was no interior, trans, or engine.
It was listed for almost a year. But I don't know if they finally sold it.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe. 1968 400 convertible (Scarlet) 1976 T/A - 455 LE (No Burt) 1976 T/A New baby, starting full restoration. 1968 350 - 4 speed 'vert - 400 clone (the Beast!) 1968 350 convertible - Wife's car now- 400 clone (Aleutian Blue) (Blue Angel) 2008 Durango - DD 2008 GXP - New one from NH is AWESOME! 2017 Durango Citadel - Modern is nice! HEMI is amazing! 1998 Silverado Z71 - Father-daughter project 1968 400 coupe - R/A clone (Blue Pearl) (sold) 1967 326 convertible - Sold 1980 T/A SE Bandit - Sold

Thank you for the input, I couldn't find it but it was a while ago. Keep me posted, I am not in a huge rush at all!
1969 Firebird 350 Coupe, Rust free Texas body, formerly brown, now a TA clone with quality spoiler, latching hood and TA wheel; 1969 GTO Convertible Expresso Brown/Parchment(currently painted red). Both numbers matching. My first love was a Cameo White 67 326 Coupe, bought back in 1983, at the age of 17, for $1,200. Been hooked since on PONTIAC! Working on a 67 400 ragtop for customization-Gulf Turquoise/Parchment/400/4 spd! My winter project!

are you just a raptop man?
1967 firebird A.I.R. 400 or California-emissions Firebird 400 four-speed hardtop. It also came with dual factory traction bars or safe-T- track rear axle, 10 bolt posi, front power disc brakes, PS, a Muncie 4 speed, Console, Dual exhaust, dual horns, and Soft Ray Glass windshield. Red on Red car... and a hood tach, rally gauge cluster... Maybe for sale??? Its sitting in MO and I am now in CA. Anyone want to haul it my way? PM me.
1220 of them were “(WU)” 400 A.I.R. 4 barrel manual transmissions. (Engine codes in parenthesis are for cars built with AIR Injector Exhaust Control, code 616. This was an emissions reduction modification performed on the heads. They were cast with an air injection passage to reduce emissions. They were installed on Firebirds manufactured for sale in California only).
It has a 24 339 code for the dealer on it from PHS... It was from Peninsula Pontiac, 2909 Pacific Coast Highway, Torrence, CA 90505

Basically you are looking for VIN & cowl tags, correct?

Well the more the better. Having the car, even if it is rotted helps when attempting to rebuild the car to correct. But if someone had the tags on the cowl with the door pilar with VIN attached I would be interested. I don't know what is legal as far as removing them, depending on where you might live. I don't want anyone to do anything that could be considered illegal or whatever in their juristdictions. I have seen them removed in restoration shops for certain work but I have never done it.

I'm GLAD you mentioned it- Just tonight I called him on his Craig's List ad where he wants $1000 or best offer MUST SELL. On the same day he posts his ad on Ebay. I asked him- "Is the car $1000?" and he says "No, I changed my mind, I want $3500." I told him that you usually start high and go down, not the other way around. I was concerned that if I drove 2 hours, the price might have gone up another thousand by the time I arrived, so I figure I will pass on dealing with this clown! LOL!
On another note there is a guy on Ebay selling a 67 body shell who has no # posted, so I emailed him twice in three days, no answer. Why do people bother to list cars they don't or won't try to sell? I offer my phone number, tell him to check my feedback, and then ask a few questions. No reply!!! Maybe he listed the auction and then went on vacation, who knows. LOL

It was in the world of wheels mag. then got hammered by
hurricane andrew and has been in the garage every since.
the body is the basket case, but the drive train is great and
all numbers match down to the carb.

Upload to Google photos, flicker, photobucket and then post the link here. Not many of us use Facebook.
