What's the trim tag say?

I posted this before:
From JohnZ (another CRG member and author of http://www.camaros.org/assemblyprocess.shtml, among other articles and who worked at LOR):

We built at least two pink '68 Firebird convertibles at Lordstown for DeLorean to give to Nancy Sinatra when they were dating; pink paint, pink leather, pink tops, pink everything.

She wrecked the first one and we built a second one to replace it.

The pink interior and convertible top WERE a bit much, but that's the way they were built; I recall the Production Control guys saying that the top and interior parts came from some outfit in California, not from the usual Fisher Body trim plants.

ok. not to dout the experts on this topic as im not one of them. i have however seen many a show and article on the subject of the 60's pink cars. can someone say mary k? also playboy and miss america. the color while not very common is more like the 68 rs/ss red/red package. while not fluent it was out there. i am not old enough to even know when most of the ads were ran but i am old enough to have seen severAL ADS ON THIS VERY TOPIC!! recently saw some in an f-body mag that detailed this subject. while they didnt give specific numbers on production they did say it wasnt all that rare comepared to say a 69 t/a!!

Hello again. Hope everyone's holidays were good. Well I haven't given up. I did call Miss America 1968 the other day. I dialed her number, she answered the phone and was very nice. Pretty cool. Might just be happy to be remembered 32 years later. Anyway she said that Miss America only received scholarships. they could not receive money or prizes of any kind and that Oldsmobile was the Pageant sponsor that year so it wouldn't have looked very good for them to give a Pontiac away anyway. She then suggested I try Miss USA so I did and found Miss USA and runner up Paulette Reck who was also Miss Maryland. Paula was a spokesperson for Pontiac that year. I located her and her husband and just sent them an email. I'll keep you posted.

All -

After reading some of these threads I am so sorry I didn't pay more attention recently. A friend and I were at the most recent Pomona Swap Meet/Car Show in Pomona, CA. We ran across a 68 F/B 400, HT that was pink. The owner 'claimed' that it was a Miss America car so of course the first thing I did was look at the cowl tag. WOW! It was a special order paint code - Now I realize that doesn't mean that it was an actual pink car delivered to Miss America or Playboy, but I really wish I had taken down the vin for further research!

I looked the car up and down and unless someone painted it and did an excellent job w/ the jamming, etc. several years ago, this might well have been an original pink car!

Anyway - Just my contribution, there is likely a pink firebird out there in CA somewhere...

Thanks,

Hello John Gragg: What was the date of the Pomona swap you saw it at? I go to everyone on saturday and stay through Sunday and have never seen one. It would be a very hard car to miss. Did you take the sellers number? Was it pink at the time or was it the orange pearl car? Thanks

PS. I emailed Miss USA and haven't heard back I guess I'll just call her.
