How can this car have 3F in the tag, but not the factory dual traction bars?

I can see how PHS can be faked, but every other tell-tale sign of a 400 is gone.

Any ideas?

And why have so many 'birds sitting outside for 25 years?

Overly simplified, but only stick shift cars got dual factory bars in '67

It's tough to make out, but I believe I see the dimple in the front bumper signifying the upper hole for the 400 emblem.

The rear trunk "400" holes could have been filled in or the trunk lid replaced.

Pretty dang solid for an OK car. I know as I live here now and see what's on Craiglist locally almost daily.

I am pretty sure all HO and 400 cars came with dual traction bars in '67.

Anybody else?

He states in the write up that he replaced the deck lid so that could explain the missing holes for the 400 emblem. Certainly looks like a good platform to start with. Everything missing is readily available with a big enough check book. I have seen a lot of hulks brought back to life that were in a loot worse condition. Wonder what his reserve price is?

I am sorry, but you are mistaken. Please refer to page 4-4 of the '67 Firebird Factory Supplement:

Vikki's site - Factory Supplement

And my numbers matching 400 auto coupe only had the RH bar with no provisions for the LH side until I installed them. Besides the floor reinforcement plate, that includes putting a Riv-Nut into the rear frame rail to support the 3rd bolt for the forward bracket.

I also noted that the cocktail shakers were missing from the trunk.

If it were nearby, I'd pick it up. But too far away, and too much work for me. (been there, done that, not ready yet)

I'll keep looking for another '68 'vert. I have a bunch of '68 parts ready to go into my next project.

Salmon, thanks for the clarification. No wonder those LH's are so hard to find!

An auto would get one right hand radius rod with a 400. Maybe with the addition of limited slip with a 3.55 and up gear on a vert the left side was mandated.

Never owned a vert, just guessing.

Does look like a nice start...as long as the panels are not full of Bondo...but floor looks good.

I agree, 67 auto 400s only had the single bar.
