I think one of their other exceptions is "anything that needs to be put in a box".
LOL! Now THAT's funny. And maybe true for them.

I once went for Summit's "Free Shipping" deal and I ordered a flywheel. I received an empty box with a 1" X 13" hole in the side where the teeth of the ring gear had eaten their way through the single wall box.
The flywheel arrived a week later with a label suck to it and a broken ring gear on it. The new ring gear I picked up in person.
"Free" shipping probably cost me more than the flywheel.
So instead of jacking people on shipping they are probably doubling the price of the item! When we lived in Irvine, CA we used to go to their showroom and buy stuff as I would not mail order anything from them due to their outrageous shipping costs. It's like buying something off Ebay, you might get a great deal on the part but then you get screwed on the shipping. Total BS...
The deals are there if you look. Epay has been good for me for anything but like you say always check the shipping before buying. I ordered 600 worth off summit and they charged 12.00. Got my stuff 2 days later after ordering. But i do live only 2-1/2 hours from there warehouse.
