I have searched for this answer, but am still a lot confused.
Can someone clarify if I am going to need to change any wiring from the hood tach to the coil, if I am using an "original" Ignitor point conversion kit with a 40,000 volt Flame Thrower coil ?
( Is the "original" Ignitor point conversion system considered to be an HEI system, versus a "true" HEI set-up )?

WITH YOUR HELP !, trying to put back together a factory 1967 convertible 400/TH400, softray glass, pw, ps, pb, ac, console, clock, safeguard speedo, remote and visor mirror(s), hood and trunk lamps, and custom trim options.(Rally II rims and hood tach had been added). THANK YOU ALL for any help, opinions, and/or advice. I'M GONNA NEED IT !

I'm interested in this as well. I have an aftermarket HEI GM lookalike dizzy and am wanting to know which hood tachs will work with it.

I am not certain, but I think these are the guys that make all the reproduction tachs that can be used with HEI units. http://www.mfsperformance.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=1&chapter=1I have one of their 1967 OHC tachs, but I have,t tried it with HEI yet.
