I had a bushing on my control arm on a 73 formula deterate an when the suspension compressed fully it made a horrible screeching sound. Replaced the bushing and sound gone... It was on the front driver side too. Do a visual on the driver side inspect your bushings and greased joints

look for rubber hanging out any of those bushing, the lower control arm kinda suck to see so look close. also make sure your sway bar bushing and end links are not worn out. have someone bounce the car up and down while you try and see where the noise is coming from...good luck!

Make sure the sway bar bushings (if you have one) are lubed.

Checked the upper bushings. Looked dry and some small cracks. I will have to get some teflon lube in there to see if that helps.

Thanks

Will check the lower ones tonight. Replaced the sway bar bushings a couple of weeks ago but did not lube them.

Are you suppose to apply lube to the bushings? I read that the Super Lube stuff works good for bushings.

When I installed my new sway bar I didn't lube the frame mounts, and had squeeking issues. Finally figured out it was the sway bar mounts after looking at the Energy Suspension web site instructions where it tells you to lube those things. I put some teflon grease on them and no more squeeks!

Poly bushings, including "polygraphite" should always be lubed when installed.

My 69' did that when I had 70 series 15" tires on the front. They would hit the inners and scream!

Found my problem. Bad shocks. Replaced both and screech is gone. Front end is much tighter as well.

Thanks for all your input.
