Well, I finally went over to my fathers house where I have been keeping an engine for about 6 years now. It was the engine that came in my bird when I first bought it. It was an original 326HO car, but unfortunately that engine is long gone. I knew practically nothing about Pontiacs at that time. So, here is what I found:
Engine - 350 YR code, year ?
Intake - 496140
Heads - 46, with 6H stamped on rectangular boss
I'm not sure the potential of these heads, but here is the story: When the engine was pulled, the heads were removed also. They were milled somewhere between .025-.035 (Don't exactly remember) They have the valve seats cut for 2.11/1.77 valves with hardened seats and three angle valve job. They also have been slightly ported and polished, mainly on the exhaust side. New brass valve guides too. Are these worth hanging on to? (I have the 4X, 4H heads on my 400 right now) Sorry this is so long. Please give any input on this stuff. Thanks.
YR is a 72 model 350 V8 2 bbl 175 hp automatic, The heads for that engine should have been 7H1`s , but you have 73 model heads (46) from a 350 150/175 hp engine,... doesnt sound like you have a lot of power from that 350, even w milled heads and I dont know about the intake
You may see if Q has any words of wisdom for the "value" of the heads,,...(he`s on vacation, back tuesday, unless he checks in on the board before..)
