I'm the 68 firebird formerlyt known as "blk68firebird400ragtop" or David from Ontario,Canada. I have been trying to login for quite some time now. I switched ISP's and computers and my passwords,etc... were wiped.I tried contacting Geoff for help but no response so i created a new account (with a stupid name) LOL
Anyways, it is great to be back and able to post and being able to read my favorite rambling and chatters section once again!
LOL i've missed you guys and gals. Really boring not being able to post and being locked out of ramblings and chatter.Stupid sceen name but hey, i'm back. I was really hoping Geoff could help me as i enjoyed being a "senior" member. Hard to believe i have been a member on this site for over 6 years now.
Hi Harry. Not much.Going to a lot of estate auctions and buying vintage audio gear(my other passion) Did not drive the olds this year as my insurance doubled and no reason to insure 3 vehicles. The bird's wings are still clipped but i am confident it will fly by next spring.I was ready to do it this year but decided to renovate the washroom instead LOL I guess i flushed that one down the drain How have you been? Not bad weather we have been having lately!
I'm good, the bird has been painted and we have been going to alot of car shows. Our friend just got his 69 cougar on the road and his father in law just got a 68 mustang so the three of us cruise together alot.Next show is the Zurich bean festival. get your bird on the road so you can join the group next year to the all firebird show in Listowel .
Nice to see you are back David. Hope you and the family are all well. I've been on here every once in a while but not posting too much these days with work and summer activities keeping me outside.
Nice to see you are still kicking around here Ernie
Harry, I'll get together with you guys at some point in time. I have little time for anything lately. I need to get the itch again and finish this car off once and for all The wife actually saw a 67' convertible in a movie she rented the other day and it was a turquoise colour and i told her ours was originally meridian turquoise and she said i should consider painting it that colour LOL Little does she know that i was leaning towards that.
Hi Vikki. You have your dads almost done? Cool! Would love the pics I have seriously considered painting it original or at least close to it. Ever since i took off the convertible mouldings where there is still original paint lurking, i have considered it seriously. I have a new email address Vikki. It is Mardave68@bell.net
I just clicked on your link Vikki and saw some pics of it.Definitely a sweet ride and look forward to seeing the unveiling pics.
Your fathers cars paint looks more blue grey, not so much blue/green.Is it me or is it just the lighting and pictures.I've only seen mine in the garage under lights and not natural lighting.None the less it looks awesome!
I've been bringin out some vintage equipment too, all my old audiophile albums, my coveted Teac A-2050 and the old tapes (just needed a new belt which I found on the 'net. Just need to find a deal on a moving coil cartridge and I'm off...cant find the damned head that had my audiotechnica MC on it...
Hell played some audiophile Supertramp the other day with just the old moving magnet Shure head and way better than the CD!!
The turquoise we had mixed is just a little less green than the original, but still most definitely an aqua and not blue. It has proven to be VERY difficult to accurately capture in digital photos and looks completely different under every type of light.
This weekend is the last before the Woodward Dream Cruise, and the race is on to install fender, hood, valance, bumpers, exhaust, tires and the interior. We are not shooting for 100% completion, but 100% roadworthy and with all major parts is in the plans.

Well it certainly looks great Vikki. Funny how much lighting alters in photo's. My first car i choose the colour of it based on a cars paint i had seen in a calender.I see the car at a car show and was blown away by the difference.
Best of luck and hope you have her roadworthy for the cruise!
I don't know if I am going to make the cruise this year. Still need to get front turn signals in, door glass and the interior. Have to wait and see how much I can get done this weekend.
We're not going to have the car in the cruise. Too much to do, and not worth rushing it. It would have been nice, but next plan is for H.A.L.F. Bocktoberfest.
By the time we are done, the other Meridian Turquoise '68 convertible I worked on for a couple of years should also be done, so we'll do a twin shot.
Larry, you work a WHOLE lot faster than my dad and I do.
