Okay, while dodging bullets and other debri last month in Iraq I decided it was worth it to buy a 69 TA spoiler for my 68 if I ever got home. I want to rid myself of the standard Camaro spoiler. Now I'm home, so who has a 68 with a 69 TA spoiler? Where did you get it and were there any problems mounting? I know it'll cost 3-4 hundred bucks. You only live once. Pictures would be greatly appreciated. :p
'68 428 HO M3 Monster, 4-on-the-floor! Need I say more?
Take a look at the FB section in the PY forum. This has been discussed in the last week. There is also a car on ebay at the moment that has one installed.
Quote "1969 Trans Am rear pedestal wing spoiler. While these spoilers were never used on 1967-68 Firebirds, they make an attractive addition". Just saw that in the Year One catalog. Their price is $270 (FT715) Jim
Welcome back Nash.. There is a 67-68 bird for sale around here and it has a t/a spoiler on it. Ill try and stop by today and get a picture of it. Ill post it for you. If you do decide on the t/a spoiler Id be interested in the spoiler you have if you decided to sell it. Again welcome home, Joe
Its the same as I put on a couple of Volvo 740`s in early-mid 80`s...bought at neighboring Pontiac dealership, fits the 740 trunk excactly... I think this is not a 69 T/A spoiler, its a "late" model w the built in 3rd brake light...(unless he added the brake light)
Nash , you could do the same...get an 80`s spoiler...just take the measurements...and compare...its prob. cheaper than the 69 anyway, sorry , cannot remember what I paid for the ones in the 80`s...but they were not expensive...(whatever 'expensive' means)
That is most likely an aftermarket 67-68 TA Spoiler with an added brake light.
Terry Ritter who lists a lot in the FS section here caries these repro/aftermarket spoilers specifically made to fit the 67-68. He may even have one listed on e-bay right now.
