I had a few foot long multifunction slide rules in Junior High / High School. Nice ones. They kept getting stolen though. Then I had a new fangled Sears calculator, red numerical readout 5 functions, $80. Brutal on batteries.

Slide rule thing is a new one on me as well. Pretty much toast nowadays I would guess kinda like the abacus(s)... well, at a power outage or batteries out, you can still use the slide rule , in daylight or candle..... if nothing else it comes in handy as a post on FGF! lol
