Does anyone know if the 67 Firebird had the 3 pt. seat belt that attached on the rear quarter by the rear window? Also, were the 2 pt. seatbelts retractable in the front?

Thanks

No. '67 had two single 2 pt. seatbelts in the rear seat.

They also had the 1/2 (2 pt.) retractable for each of the front seats. The retractor was outboard of the seats, and the inboard side was a 1/2 length non-retractable.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.

If you're talking about the shoulder belt, they make an aftermarket, but none came with them originally.

Has anyone used the shoulder seat belt? It does not look comfortable but seems to make sense.

It's been talked about before (I think somewhere around 2007/2008?). You'll probably have to do a forum search.

I have the aftermarket shoulder belts. Install was simple and they work good.

I use the original shoulder belt setup. It's a little restrictive but it's supposed to be. Not uncomfortable. Not as convenient as a three point but they work. I pulled them out and for awhile ran some racing harnesses but they gave me a hard time at tech because I didn't have a submarine belt so I went back to the original setup. You should have seen the look on my Mitsu-boy ride-along instructor's face when I showed him how they worked...Priceless

Dan, can you tell me where you got the aftermarket ones and which ones you bought?

Thanks

I forgot to mention that my car is a convertible. I am looking for some after market 3 point seat belts for the front seats of my convertible. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

....or does it make a difference that it is a convertible? Do all of the aftermarket 3 point seatbelts work on coupes and convertibles?

Thanks

The upper anchor for convertibles is about two feet farther back than for coupes, behind the cover by the window crank/switch. So you'd need to have enough webbing to accomodate a driver and passenger with the seat full forward. I haven't looked recently, but I could not find one advertised with enough webbing length.
