Just wonder if someone knows what the codes means, Color R1, Trim 08 on the billing sheet as I do not have the body tag numbers yet.
I think it is red with a white convertible top and black interior, but it does not make much sense and I am pretty sure I am wrong on that one...

R = Matador red 1 = White top I dont' know what the '08' would be, but 208 would be black standard buckets, and 218 would be black deluxe buckets.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. Thanks !
But red car with white top and black interior ? I just find that a little bit strange, would it not have been normal with a black top ?
The interior is black and looks original.

They must drop the 2. My billing history on my '68 shows 50, but the tag shows 250.
It looks like all the trim colors start with a 2.
My '400 coupe was blue with turquoise interior and a white vinyl top, so yes, there were some wild color combos back then.
I am still debating changing the top to black or doing a custom teal color. No way will it be white. (although white would help cool the interior from the sun)

Oh, and with a black interior, the top boot would also be black. So just keep the top down and covered, and you'll never see the white.

Mine ,when I bought it had a (dirty , ripped) white top, black interior and red body...of course that was not how it was born...I replaced w black top,...(car was born midnight green w dark green top and interior)
but I bought a red 67 Mustang in 1970 it was red with white top, white interior, I elected to put new black top on it ,as the white gets "dirty" easily...\ I know, just rambling here....but...fir whatever its worth...

Could be, but did they have a factory that built Caddy's there ?
It was sold new by McLean Motor Co in Santa Ana California to Yvonne de Chavigny Segerstrom 3-7-73
Anyways, I will check the body plate on my -73 Eldo cupe tomorrow just to see if there is any differences
