I bought a 69 Firebird a few weeks back. It's the 275 hp 350. It's actually running pretty good now. I changed the fuel pump and plugs and a few other random things. Now my biggest issue is that the gauges aren't working at all minus the GEN light. I also have no turn signals or flashers.
Trying to make this a driver project. Gotta get this sorted before that can happen. I tore the dash out today and there's a lot of stuff in there that I just have no idea about. A few things that aren't plugged in anywhere and what not.
The guy has wired a push button ignition and appears to not be using the stock ignition switch at all, which might account for the unplugged parts? The braided gauge ground wire for the gauges wasn't grounded. I ran a tester clip to try that and it didn't seem to work.
