The 69 bird I bought about a month ago now is running pretty good. But now it's hesitating and boggin a bit when nailing the throttle. I hear a slight sucking sound but I dont see any sign of vacuum leak. I do however think that I have some exhaust manifold leaks. Would this cause it?

What kind of carb are you running? Q-jet? If so, could be a bad accelerator pump...I also had a choke pulloff leaking vacuum that caused similar problems. Exhaust manifold leak shouldn't cause this, I'd bet on a carb issue first.

Check your carb to intake gasket. I had this happen on my 69' Cutlass no long ago. Whistling and sucking air through there.Problem solved (for me) David
