Solar flares would be awesome for skip land. Anyone remember where that term came from?

Cant see a thing tonight... too much snow Our daughter out there sent me a picture of the snow falling in their back yard. And we were hoping for one final camping trip in RMNP before winter...

Well, Colorado68, how much snow did you get? Our daughter called and said about a foot of heavy wet stuff is snapping trees and power lines all around them.

About 6" so far and still snowing. By the end of the day we're supposed to be around 8-10" depending on part of town. Lot's of downed trees (it's wet heavy snow). It will all be gone in a couple days though!

Dave, looks like all you saw was that one guy on the motorcycle. Or was it a biker babe??

Finally...knew I could not have been the only CBer nerd out there. We use to communicate over cb back in the late 70's. 1st social network.
Sunspots activity on the sun would play havoc with radio signals on earth. Signals would "skip" off the atmosphere and come down virtually anywhere in the world. Some I heard were as far away as Australia. Most of the signals we could respond to were in north america. CB's are designed to only work in a 10-20 mi range so it was pretty cool to talk to another guy 2000 mi away.
In most cases you could here the other guy but he could not copy you. When ever we did get confirmation we would exchange addresses and send each other a post card. Some guys had specially made up cards based on their CB handle.
I will dig around to see if I can find some cards.
