My engine is finally in the shop and the fellow there is recommending duplicolor. He said he heats up the engine a bit then applies the first coat lightly. Then a series of light coats.

He did however say it's been a while since he painted a Pontiac blue.

So I am just wondering if the Duplicolor paint available is correct looking.

If not what is?

I saved a link a while back on this subject but lost it. Looking at history I can't find it on topic.

Please advise.....Thanks...

Yes, Duplicolor DE-1616.

But I had better results with Plasti-kote 227.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.

I used the Duplicolor, I was happy with the results. OReillys had it to me the next day.

I used por-15 high temp silver as a primer on bare block then used engine paint from The Parts Place. Afterwards when still tacky I sprayed with hightemp clear, that was 4 years ago and still looks like the day it was sprayed .

Take a look at http://www.pontiacpower.org/enginecolor.htm

1610 appears to be correct for 1959-1965. For your '67 you want Dupli-Color #1616 or its equivalent in another brand.

heads hold up fine, not exhaust ports...
