The following does NOT impact this forum.

I have been notified by our host provider that support is being dropped for an outdated programming language which I had used to program parts of FGF (Online Car Show, VIN Decoder, Body Tag Decoder, or anything which ends in .mv). This means on 1/1/2012 or shortly after, these parts of our site will no longer work.

There may be other unforeseen issues pop up on the move which I will make every effort to fix as quickly as possible.

I had spent a large number of hours over the years developing these from scratch and it saddens me this is occurring and that I do not have time to learn and reprogram using a modern programming language such as php.

Being downsized at work this year and seeing my home mortgage continue to go further underwater at now laughable levels, my main focus continues on getting a new job, getting out of a hole, and focusing on keeping the family together. Each is a daily struggle and I still continue to believe myself blessed as it can always get worse.

Thank you - Geoff

I hate to hear that (on all accounts) but fully understand what goes into setting up just one small section, let alone the full site as it's developed over the years.

As always we thank you for getting us all together in the first place... wish there was more I personally could do to help...

Hang in there (like the rest of us) one day at a time...

Brett!

I received an extension until April 1st before they "upgrade" the server. Still working on solutions.

The day has come which our server was "upgraded." Funny it fell on April Fools Day. This is what I have posted on main page. I believe I have resolved all issues but one:

Quote:
Our hosting service provider, TierraNet, "upgraded" our server on April 1st (not an April Fools Joke but wished it was) and pretty much broke the entire site. We fixed many of the issues except one major one which is more involved.

Any page ending in .MV will not work until they are recoded and compiled in current scripting language or convert to another. This impacts a good part of our website including: Online Show, Body Tag Analyzer, VIN Analyzer, Contact Us, and a few other sections. This is a bit more involved and have not had much time to do these things as many of these sections took 100s of hours to program.

Time is precious as I am still looking for a new job equivalent which I had last year, family, and dealing with a recently diagnosed long term illness. I do want to get these sections up asap and will focus on the smaller projects first. I do not have a time line but hope by end of the year most of it will be back up and functioning.

Thanks - Geoff

I know the Body Tag decoder isn't working, but would it be possible to get a copy of the data set and mappings that under lie it? I will help people decode.

It really is most important for the '67's since the body tag shows so many of the options. There is that '67 400 Convert on PY that I'm curious about.
