Every professional restoration company I have seen in operation always completely blasts or dips the body shell 1st to expose all the problem areas and then begins the metalwork.

dont sand blast...do media blasting...sand blasting can warp metal panels.

Salmon is correct, blast first (media not sand) and repair afterwards or you might miss a lot and have to redo some thinjgs

You'll want to primer that bare metal within a week from getting back from the stripper. Even in a grage it will flash over with rust.

Dave,

Is "redi-stripped" a dipping process?

No, he just tells his women, "ready, strip!". He says it works every time. grin

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.

Remember to have lots of singles to put into the garter belt.

My, we have gotten off track.

Yes, fully epoxy primer after stripping the body and document problem areas that need to be fixed.

Go look at one of the cars that MCR has on their site that has a lot of photos taken (the car has progressed in their shop past the point of paint). You will get how to proceed on your project by following one of their picture histories and see how they do it.
