I have a turbo 400 automatic transmission. When I am in the top gear is the transmission suppose to kick down into passing gear when I floor the pedal? Could this be a vacuum problem or something not connected? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Someone told that it was an electrical switch but didnt know where it was. I will check the carb. The previous owner put a new 4 barrel on the engine so maybe he didnt hook it up. Thanks TOHCan for the tip. What would I be looking for on the carb? Is it typically located in the front or back of the carb? Thanks again
This will be a black switch mounted to a bracket on the driver's side of the carb with a plunger jutting out from the front of it that the throttle lever hits as it approaches WOT (wide open throttle).
It will have 2 wires to it.

Awesome, Thanks a lot for the help. I checked this earlier and dont remember seeing this on my carb. It is a new 4 barrel that was purchased through summit. There are no other marks on it but the words Summit. I will check this in the morning. Thanks again.
If you do not have the OEM one, which is not reproduced and really difficult to locate used, Lokar makes an excellent replacement that utilizes a cable, works great with aftermarket carbs, and it really easy to install.
