I just received a pair of armrest covers from Legendary (ordered through Ames) and they don't even come close to covering the metal armrest base. They don't cover all the way on the sides, rear, or top. I'll try to attach a pic I snapped with a cell phone.

Is this normal? The cover I took off the metal base went all the way to the edge and wrapped around to the back. I don't know for sure if the exposed metal would be visible once everything is back together...but I think it will. Even if it isn't visible, I would think that the material not going all the way to the edge is not right.

It's as if they had the right pattern, but made the parts about 10-15% smaller than they were supposed to.

Has anyone else recovered the rear armrests? Does this look right?

I recovered the ones for my 69 vert. As I recall, I ordered them from Classic (though that was a couple of years ago now) but they fit fine, just like they were supposed to. All the way around with plenty to wrap over the edge and glue down on the back side.

Update on this...

I called Ames and they checked with Legendary on these. Looks like they sent me the wrong covers. I don't know what car uses identical covers, but just a few inches shorter, but that's what it was. They quickly sent out new replacements that fit just like they're supposed to.

I had put the wrong covers on the couch as armrest covers...but the wife quickly veto'd that.
