How hard can it be to replace a distributor? I know, anyone can do it. Well, we swapped the old one for a new one to complete the 69 400 with its rebuid and now no spark after it was running with the old one. We took the distributor off 3 times and cleaned all the connections and still no spark....frustrating. Any tips?

Id take the cap off, and use a volt meter to ensure you have voltage at the points. If you do shut off ignition and check the other side of the points to make sure they ahve a good ground (short) if that is good disconnect the condensor, ives seen those shorted causing no spark it will run without it , just dont leave it that way or your points will burn up.

Make sure the points are open or you won't see any voltage.
