I am considering changing out some of the interior on the 68 so the better half will ride with me. I ordered and have a pair of 68 Deluxe interior bucket seat covers from Ames (ok quality but not the true comfort weave) and need to purchase the foam as well.

Has Legendary Interiors got up to speed with the F bodies?

Thanks in advance,

Kevin-

Restoring and maintaining old cars and old boats....oh what fun we invent for ourselves. Seems to go in stride with ....You don't live it until you own it....Three steps forward....two steps back ....

It's been eight years since I did mine but I recall American Cushion Industries having the higher quality (and price) seat padding. I got mine from NPD (C-SF-203). The first couple years they felt comfortable but I thought I was sitting high in the seat. Now, after a few years, I think it was more an issue of me being used to the low, smashed down originals. I like them now.

I did the reupholstery on my rear seat but had the buckets repaired and recovered done professionally.

I just called them yesterday as i have a 69, and the springs are molded into the pad. Nobody seems to make those anymore , so i have to order the spring assembly for a 68 deluxe. extra 90 bucks a seat. but without the springs , the cushins are useless.

I have bought seat pads with the integral wires in the backrest pad for my 1969 Firebird. I haven't installed them yet, so I don't know how the fit is.
I bought them just recently from Classic Industries, part #SF109 (for DeLuxe interior). If you have a standard interior the part # is SF117.

Your correct , 215.00 a set ,But none the less my statement is still true , he can use what he has . he just needs to move the springs to the new frame and he is all set. I am going to do the same thing as i have the same buns, the springs are only 90 bucks each.
It's irritating at times finding the right part, i call CI, ames , ACI and PUI? each one told me the same thing. not available. use the springs from a 68 deluxe.
