Hate to say it but it's true. We bought a house today by the grace of God. The only bad thing is the house is gutted on the inside, all new drywall and wiring but that's it! No outlets, no switches, no lighting fixtures etc. No doors, no trim, no carpet nothing!
However, the house on the outside is gorgeous and needs nothing! Brand new roof nicely painted & landscaped etc. Sooooo, we have no choice but to sell the ole girl!
Going to make this plain and simple, not going to negotiate or BS back and forth. This car is 100% rock solid, darn near 100% rust free, if you can find some I'll eat it.

I am only the second owner since Jan 2010. Most of you know the car. I bought it from the wife and son of the original owner in AL after the 83 y/o gentleman passed away. The car had 54k miles on it when I bought it. Original engine and rear are still in the car! 90% original paint! Interior is a 9.5 out of 10! This car is a beauty!!!!
I converted it to a 4-speed (still have the original 2-speed auto with only 54k) goes with the car. I installed 4-wheel power disc brakes and SEVERAL OEM options on this car! There are tons of pics on this site. You could get in this car right now and drive it to CA and not have a problem and get 20mpg to boot!
The car needs two things at some point. A new radiator and the upper control arms need rebuilding. That's IT!
This car retains ALL of it's original sheet metal and to my knowledge the car does not have ANY replacement panels and or patches anywhere! This car is about as solid as you will possibly find IMO. I have added the following OEM options to this car:
red fender well liners, screw on door edge guards, rear power antenna, rear window defroster, console mounted vacuum gauge, dash mounted clock, hood mounted tach, power trunk release, trunk light, tilt wheel, power driver's seat, vinyl top.
Upgrades/mods: 4-wheel power disc brakes (CPP kit), Diamondback Cooper brand red line tires, front dual voice coil speaker, rear dual voice coil speaker, AM radio upgraded to AM/FM/MP3 80watts (all look 100% bone stock but sounds GREAT and stereo due to dual voice coil speakers).
Front & rear springs (TRW) were replaced when I bought the car as well as all four shocks with KYB. I installed a 67 4bbl intake with a late 60's Pontiac Q-jet but I do have THE ORIGINAL 2bbl carb & intake that will go with the car.
If you know of anyone that may be interested, feel free to pass along my number. I honestly do not think you can possibly find a nicer 67 LeMans ANYWHERE in existence that has this low mileage and so original (paint & interior, body panels etc.).
Yes , congrats on the house , and I know it hurts to sell that car...but you got to do wjhat you got to do....its a beuty and if I had the room , I`d love to keep her....but out of room , and contemplating every so often to sell my Tr6 , but still have it.
Glad things are going better Joe! Congrats on the new house!

Good for you...and the nice thing about the state the house is in is you can add in all your own touches to make it yours!
As others said, if I had the time and room, I would also be all over it...if it was next year I would be....heck, I have hardly been out in the bird this year!
I know soon you will be back with your next project, can hardly wait!
It's not a storage problem at all. The new house has an oversize two car garage and once the LeMans sells I won't have anything but a push mower to put in there! So it's not a storage problem, it's a "we need carpet, trim, doors, cabinets etc." problem! LOL
Stain the concrete floors... or paint them.. http://www.concretenetwork.com/stained-concrete/ no need for carpet! trim is a luxury , but doors and cabinets are good to have....are there any local "used doors ,cabinet stores" around? there seems to be resale shops here from houses torn down...
Wow, That was fast. Congrats on the house and quick sale of the car. Good luck finishing the house, it can be a fun experience if you don't get caught up in all of the decisions that have to be made. Is the LeMans staying in FL?
Congrats on the house, too. Check Craigslist for all the materials you need for the house. With everything that is on there right now, you could finish three houses.
Congratulations on the house! Man, I just started reading these posts and was wondering how I could afford the Lemans and not end up single. You've got your priorities right, but that is a beautiful car.
[censored] Joe- that was fast!! If it weren't for me wanting the bird before a second car, I would have made the drive to look at that beauty... Congrats on the house man!!
Cant wait for summer... 68HO4004spvert Sleddog Iowa
God Bless the men and women past and present that have served this country. Thank you. Support D.A.V. - it helps gives a life back to those who gave so much for us.....
Thanks guys! I must say that I am feeling much better about this whole thing than I ever thought I would. I actually feel as though this is the "right thing to do at the right time" etc. Sounds weird but it's true, it just feels right for some reason! Kinda weird actually...
Bobby, you are dead on with the craigslist for materials! I have been scanning it for days! The deals on there are insane! I recently bought a keyboard amp for my electronic drums off craigslist, this amp sells for $499 new, I found one on CL that was less than a year old, college kid had it listed for $200 and I got for $150! The set of electronic drums that I bought off CL, retail for $1100, I bought my set with a stool and a few other extras for $325 and they still had the shrink wrap on them. Plus the kid game me the receipt for them from Guitar Center from when he bought them 8 months earlier!
The deals on craigslist are insane! Over the past two years Every piece of musical instrument stuff I now own has been bought off that web site and for a fraction of the cost! I bought a full blown, top of the line Carvin PA system (thanks to my Dad). It retailed for $1900 total, I got it for $700 plus several cords/cables etc. that were worth another $200!
Most people that post stuff are just looking for cash to get their next high. I always low ball and show them cash. Always works.
Not always true..... But close!!!!
Ok, well here is my latest CL score. A $500 Lowes gift card for $300. Totally legit, met the seller right at Lowes, had customer service verify the card, and bingo! Score!
Thanks Robert! Actually I meant to say $300! Yes, that's why I bought it soon as I saw it posted! The day we close on the house we have to buy a ton of stuff, 2 toilets, case of outlets, switches, light fixtures and the list goes on and on and on and on..... LOL
Oh yeah and the wife is already talking about a 98 T/A WS6 6-speed conv we know of one with only 44k miles and the guy only wants 9k and says he will hold the car for a year if we want it. LOL oh brother....
Most people that post stuff are just looking for cash to get their next high. I always low ball and show them cash. Always works.
guess Im not 'most people'
Just a warning for anyone thinking of buying a gift card from craigslist or from anyone for that matter. Now I know this from my days of working at Circuit City. NEVER EVER buy one WITHOUT the original sales receipt and here is why.
The person sells you a gift card at a great deal as the one I bought. You leave, they immediately go to the store where they bought it WITH the original receipt (because they did not give it to you) and they tell the store they lost the gift card. The store then cancels the gift card (the one the person just sold you) and issues the original purchaser and brand new one and the scam starts all over!
I just thought I would let you all know about this. Some chains WILL do this such as Lowes, Walmart etc. some do not replace them! Buyer beware!!!
Oh yeah, that 98 T/A has broken into the 11 second bracket on the 1/4 mile. Deep blue with all tan leather & top. It's an un-offical Firehawk (converted/built by SLP after the car was sold at a Pontiac dealer not sold new as a Firehawk). SLP considers it and registers it as a Firehark in their registry. This car is sick. An 11 sec. conv. Rut row...
