BTW its kind of stupid that I mentioned the date codes anyway. The only way you can see them is with the tire off (inside the rim). Now you really have to be a purest to insist the inside date codes are correct.
okay--so you have two JC's which are 14x6 and will work on drum brakes on the 68 firebird---the 5 spoke wheels right. Did you have rings & caps as well??
Drum brakes are never a problem, its the disc that you need to be careful with. I don't have any caps or rings. You can still get OEM and the repos are pretty good (at least for the caps). Trim rings are another story. Someone else needs to chime in because I am still looking for a set of trim rings and I am still confused as to what looks correct.
The first wheel is a date code MI8 (1968). This one has been bead blasted and primed by the person I bought it from. It is straight with very little road rash, the lug holes look very good and the bead is in good shape. Overall condition is very good. $25.
The second wheel is also date code MI8 (1968). This one needs restoration but is straight with very little road rash, the lug holes look very good and the bead is in good shape. This one will need some glazing putty/high build primer to obtain a perfect finish. Overall condition is fair (it looks worse than it is). $20.
