On the front of my 400 Air Cleaner, there is the follow "painted" Service Instructions. I like the originality of this, but as you can see, the air cleaner should be repainted as I am doing my restoration and there is no way to save this stencil and make it look good (that I know of anyway). Does anyone make the correct stencil/transfer/reverse decal to make it look like the original? All I can find is a pure decal. Any help appreciated.

There is a guy over on PY that silk screens those. They look just like new.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.

Just out of interest, I have a 400 air cleaner getting repainted right now but also wanted to retain the original stencil. My approach was to strip the air cleaner back to metal, but leave the stenciled area untouched. My paint guy is going to feather around the edges and try and blend in the new paint with old.

We discussed that option as well, but decided against it since some of the area very close to the stencil was down to the metal and needed to be painted too.
