I bought a 68 with rally2s on it but the wheel nuts are 9 spline nuts and need a female 9 spline socket to get them off. Are these sockets still available ? Local wheel shops haven't seen them before and can't help.

I had one of those on one of my wheels, and luckily a standard socket fit over it and was strong enough to get it off. I don't know about getting all 5 of them off though. Ugh!

Summit and other retailers sell spline lug nuts and sockets. Here are some of their offerings...not sure how to determine proper size...maybe with a caliper? But it popped into my head as an alternative... Do you plan to re-use these? If no, another alternative is to just weld another nut to the top of each one and get 'em off...20 times could get a little old though...a socket that fits would be better... Or, I'd probably try to just tackle 'em with vice grips...they look long enough to grab to crack loose...

Just find a socket that fits snuggly on the lugnut and just drive it on with a BFH. Use an impact socket if you can to avoid breakage.

If that dont work they do sell a socket that is like a stud extractor that grips good enough to get them off.

I tried jamming a socket on and the extractors and they didn't work ... What I did find was, cementing 3 small dowels into three corners of a 15/16 hex socket takes them off ... But the glue gives way after each nut and I have to re-glue the dowels back again ... At least they're coming off and I guess I've got all winter.
