I am in the process of getting my 1968 firebird restored and I need to replace the Wheel Well and Rocker Panel Molding. Does anyone know of a good source for these parts.
Also the firebird is a convertible with a white top and a white interior and I am repainting the car a dark blue and wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions for a color.
1968 firebird stock dark blue is called Aegena Blue. Is is very dark, almost black. Looks great with white. I am likely going with this original color on my 400 coupe that I am working on now.
Ames is likely your best bet for the chrome.
Post some pictues! What is the original color or code for your car?
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. Rich, I also have a 68 firebird convert with a white top and parchment interior. I am thinking of painting it a dark blue and was leaning toward the 2001 Chevy s-10 dark blue called "indigo blue" GM paint code WA9792
please post some pictures when you get it back from paint cause I'm about 5 months away from painting mine and I'd love to see what you decide to go with.
The original color is Autumn Bronze. The restoration so far includes rebuilt engine, new transmission, new interior, new wheels and tire and I am converting the car from drums to disc brakes.
I have a paint book and have narrowed it down. I will post the color codes as soon as I get home today.
The wheel well molding kit from Ames is $185, I have seen other places sell kits for significantly cheeper but I am assuming the cheeper kits are thin and do not fit well.
