My car didn't have a horn contact when I got it. I bought the kit but I have yet to find a pic of a 1969 Firebird's assembly of the kit. My steering wheel has the three horn buttons on it and the kit is suppose to have the wires hook up to the Horn Contact Assembly.

Does anyone have a picture of one on the steering wheel?
or
Can you let me know how the kit is assembled and installed? It comes with the pin, a spring and a black sleeve.

Thanks,

Well, I guess my cancelling cam may be broken. There isn't a slot for the black sleeve to attach. I guess it is broken just below that or there isn't one on the 1969.

Mine probably looks like this:

I have been looking for a cam but almost all I can find are ones that say for "Tilt" what is the difference and what are my options?

I have a 1969 non tilt car.

I am not missing any parts. I just need to know if the cancelling cam has a slot in it for the horn contact to fit into?

Mine doesn't and some online don't either but if that is the case I can't seem to figure out how it stays pressing into the white cone. The spring just pop's it out.

Mine is similar to this.

Hi, just pulled my horn button assy. off. my cam does not have the slot. the plastic tube just pops in with a slight interference fit. If I were to pop it in and out a few more times it probably would not stay in, also the spring has almost no pressure on it when installed.

Okay, I will have to find some way to make it stay in then. I tried to put it in and push the horn buttons but the horn doesn't beep. If I ground the wire to the steering wheel mounting bolt the horn does beep. I can't really figure out how the horn button contacts ground out.

Anyone know where the horn buttons get their ground from?
