On my 69 vert 350 trans console shifter..
Brake light were out, so I followed the troubleshooting tests from the forum here and isolated it to the turn signal switch. Replace it with cheapo o'reilly part and now they work fine.
BUT my "now and then" problem of having to twist the steering shaft collar to get it started is now an "all the time" problem.
I could not see that the bolts holding the neutral safety switch allowed any adjustmest So.. I suspect the transmission to neutral safety switch linkage- bushings are shot.
is there a source for these bushings. Or is that switch somehow adjustable

don't know about the switch but the rod from your trans is easily adjustable with a 1/2" or 9/16" wrench @ the lower end of the rod that joins to the steering column
