Hi. Can anyone give me info on the ignition switch on my 69 bird. I suspect it may be the reason my car will not start. How do I take it apart. Is it repairable. I put a meter on the coil and it is not getting power when I turn the key to run. No starter when I turn to start. When I turn to acc. I have power to radio so that works. Thanks, Pete
is your column cover turned all the way to the left? Do you have the linkeage?or is it removed for headers?
I had that problem...even after getting the ign. switch worked on ,still had some problems...wired an "extra" starting wire from starter to engine room , for a 'hidden in plain sight' extra starting wire...( but ign key must be in and turned on..)
I have a 4 speed I don't think I have the column switch but I will go check it now. How hard is it to work on and what is a good place to trouble shoot it from. Thank you, Pete
Hey Pete...do you have a test light?? I would start at the ign switch and see if you have power coming right out of the switch to the ign and starter wire and track it from there. I cant remember the colors off hand but if you need em I can look em up for ya....or I'm sure someone here knows off hand.
