I'm looking for the brace that is welded between the trunk extension panel and the rear of the quarter panel where the end of the bumper attaches to the quarter panel. I have 2 other Firebirds and neither one of them has the braces. This is for a 69 Trans Am. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you post a picture of what you are refering to? trying to picture what/where it is.

I sent you a pic of the brace today. Looks like its welded to the trunk floor extension and it supports the end of the bumper where it goes through the quarter panel.

Yes, that's the exact part. The one I need is for the right side. I haven't seen any restoration pieces available.

Interesting. I never noticed that the '69 is different from the '68 there.

Anyone else having trouble viewing threads with pics? Seems like they stretch out off the edge of the screen and there's no sideways scroll at the bottom to slide the screen.

No problems here. Must be something with your browser settings. I see a normal full page, and photos work fine. I'm using Google Chrome, and on Explorer 9 it looks fine too.

I don't think it will post better if I repost it. Your photo appears clear and appropriately sized just as it sits...it looks good from my end already. I was referencing Firebob's browsing settings maybe being messed up, since he was complaining about viewing problems. Not yours. I think whatever method you used to post your pic works fine.

Joel, I was able to find a used brace for the Trans Am. I talked with Jim at Ames Performance and no one makes the brace as a restoration part.
