Wow, that is pretty cool if it's the real deal. He may be legit- I would request a personal inspection before buying, and get him to sign a notarized document stating that upon successful bidding, if the car is not a legit TA, and that it is not # match that the transaction is void. There is someone on the site who can give this car a total inspection for a fee and verify it, he knows his s#!t when it comes to the numbers that are supposed to be there. If anyone is serious, let me know and i will give you his contact info.
That baby is gonna need some work! Looks like it might have been under water at one point?

12,300 with 8 days still to go. Good lord. I know a guy that spent 30k on one with the original motor AND hood and drives it. People are either friggin nuts or see something I don't see. I see a pile of rust and/or someone is paying for a body tag and a few bits here and there.
Bidding on and actually paying for are two completely different things when it comes to Epay...

Unless the bidder magically has the correct EUN serialized WQ block for that car would 16K make sense.
There is not one usable panel on that car.
If one were to rebody that RA car WITH the correct engine would the bid price be worth it.
Just from looking over past 3 days, there is at least 50k worth of bodywork, paint, and other work to be had. And I am not including an original T/A hood $8-12k.
I reality, an already restored or an older restored non matching 69 T/A RAIII could be had for 60-75K
Maybe the bidder has amassed scores of parts, a correct WQ block and has a 69 body. That would be my guess.
Or you could save the 75K and buy a 2015 Z/28

I know it is a taboo subject but anyone who would rebody a car probably has no issues restamping a block. I wouldn't be surprised to see a numbers matching TA on the "For sale" block in the next few years.
