Been "stored" for 17 years in my shop. Other priorities such as family made it sit. I have new OEM front fenders, OEM rear quarters , OEM front fenders , OEM TA rear spoiler, and many other OEM Parts collected over the years. Very base model and original OHC long gone. Just wanted to document the start. Going to make it a nice driver. In order, new gas tank and lines, free up engine, disc brake conversion, clean/replace interior. Once mechanicals and "hidden" areas done, replace body and top. Long road ahead...

I have to ask a couple dumb q's. So you pulled it OUT of a shop to work on it in the yard? I looked at the pictures a few times with the tilted dog head look of htf did he get that thing up there like that and htf is it staying up?

Yep! I pulled the OHC back when I was 16. Young and dumb. Kept it and the tranny around forever. Unfortunately, a divorce had the ex-wife clean out parts to the local junk yard without me knowing. Water under the bridge now. I actually have another 69 OHC and tranny I picked up in Ohio for it in the shop. REALLY thinking about going back to it. Original and all that. Not hard to rebuild and restore the OHC...

LOL, pulled it out to work on it! That does seem silly! In reality, I pulled it out to give it a good cleaning and go over it generally to see what I will be doing to her. Had about 3/4 dust on it (it was covered though). It will be going back in later this week after she breathes a little. It is actually on a really nice Rotary scissors lift at the lowest height. Hydraulic pump is protected under the wheelbarrow. I pulled it out of the shop just for the purpose of getting her up so I could clean it good and assess the years of storage damage.

Have a question about something. Can a "Vintage Air" or any type of A/C work with the OHC? This is actually a determining factor for my direction right now. Any responses will be appreciated. I am really looking forward to this project. Do I need to start a new topic thread for questions as I move forward?

You can use the Camaro Gen IV sure fit kit for the Firebird but I am not sure if we will be able to provide a compressor bracket for the motor you listed.
Is that an inline six and what year motor is it or what is it out of?
We offer six cylinder compressor mounting brackets on page 64 of our online catalog but I am unsure if what e=we offer will work for what you have.

You can order the order the complete sure fit kit minus the compressor and bracket for $1100.00 plus shipping but would have to determine if we can provide a bracket to sell the complete kit.

As part of the restoration of my 68 Firebird Sprint, i wanted to upgrade and add AC to the system, everyone i talked to said to get the Vintage air system, is it possible that the kit made for the 350 and 400 would fit the 4.1L I6 that my car has?

thanks for your reply, the 6Cyl is a Pontiac OHC6 that was a factory option from 1967 to 1969 (Sprint Package) its the same motor available for the tempest and Lemans

I can provide a universal bracket which would give you a head start in the fabrication process.
Look at bracket part number 151015 on page 65 of our online catalog.

The cost for the complete kit is $1395.00 plus shipping and we could include that bracket.
