So I bought a 67 400 from volo auto and it was said to be matching numbers, but it was a California car and the block code is a YT . From my web research that is the wrong block?

If it was optioned as an automatic car, that code should work.

Mine is a correct YT block for my fully documented CA 400/400 auto car. EUN (Engine Unit Number) stamped on the motor matches my PHS documents. There was no VIN stamped on blocks for '67, but the EUN is just as good.

Suggest you get the PHS docs for your car. Then you can compare the EUN on your block to the factory documents.

YT would be correct for a Cali car.

All 670 heads were plumbed for the A.I.R. and may also be a specific carb number.

If you look, you will see the inlet in the front of the heads and 4 individual allen nuts on the top rail of head.

Air injection port.

Ports on top rail (right head) Top retains original fitting, bottom one plugged, likely at machine shop.
