Hey all. I wanted to pop in to let you all know that I have just gotten back to work part time after a medical problem. Last Monday I had a moderate heart attach and had a heart cath. They found one artery blocked 100% and another blocked 85%. A stint was installed in the 100% blockage and I am scheduled to have another done a week from tomorrow. The docs all seem to think that I have a pretty good prognosis so I am optimistic.
We pray you have a full recovery Larry. How's a guy to know when you artery are full? I wonder if there is a way to diagnose this before you get a heart attack.

Heart specialists offer stress tests and stress tests with imaging that can show if a blockage is likely.
Dam Larry! Good they caight it before it got serious!! (Just kidding) Amazing what they can do to fix a body up these days. Gotta live it like you stole it.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your thoughts. This really caught me by surprise as I had no (well none I acknowledged) symptoms until Monday. First 4 EKG and blood work came back normal. A stress test had been ordered and then the 5th round of testing indicated a heart attack.
I am looking at a lot of things differently now!
Liston to your bodies my slightly older classic friends!
No kidding. It's been a challenging couple of years for me. Just because something hurts, but not too badly, doesn't mean it's not a serious issue. And if you feel "a little off" for an extended period of time, don't just chalk it up as "getting old". That's what I tried to do.
Do what Larry said. Listen to your body.
I'm a hobbyist. Not a professional. Don't be hatin'!
That is exactly what happened to me. I was cutting and splitting firewood two days before the hear attach. Seemed like I got really tired and had some "strange" muscle aches on the right side of my chest. I put it off to just getting older. My 21 year old son was even making fun of the "old man". The felt kind of strange that evening but not a lot of pain.
Larry, that's almost exactly like mine. I had some pain for a couple weeks after shoveling snow, walking up a hill, using the treadmill, etc. I finally went into the hospital after getting a strange feeling one night. The cath crew was immediately called in after the blood test showed a heart attack. Hopefully your stents (and meds) are as helpful as mine. Also coincidently, this week I split a couple face cords of firewood.
Best of luck Larry, hope you have a quick and full recovery!

Had the second surgery on Friday. It went very smoothly and I was home the same day. They ended up doing 2 more stents for a total of 3. I was mowing grass on Saturday. It is amazing what medicine can do these days. Thanks again for all your thoughts.
