Thanks Tom for reminding me.
The block is .030 over and it has 2 bolt main caps but block is drilled for 4 bolt.

dropped heads off yesterday will be hot tanked & magnifluxed by next Fri.
Crank has been polished
Block looked at by man at machine shop will probably need .010 or .020 overbore to clean up cyl. walls

Combustion chambers media blasted checked for cracks all is o.k.
Machine shop man looked at block and said it is good but will probably require a .010 or .020 overbore to clean cyl. walls up.
Crank has also been cleaned and checked and it is good.

I'd prefer to sell whole thing as I'm trying to get the funds to finish my 400 build for my bird.

Hey Doug...

Not trying to be a dick here...but I offered to pay for the block and heads in FULL last week and asked for an address. Today you tell me its sold after you and I had continuous contact..PMs here plus 9 emails with photos you sent yesterday. I replied yesterday that I would be there tomorrow..

If you are not going to honor your word from less than 24 hours ago...don't post your [censored] for sale.

Again...I offered to pay for the [censored] last week...perhaps the week before in full.

Totally not cool and a total dick move.

Well Tom it's like this as I said in my email I had it listed on other sites.
You were not the first to respond.
I would not take deposit or payment from anyone without seeing it in person first.
I know I sent you pictures but even I wouldn't spend that kind of money without seeing the motor in person so I did not expect you or anyone else to either.

And after you sent the pictures...I stated Sunday within what..minutes of and at the end of all those emails that I would take it. If I was the first as you said..why not afford me either reasonable time to complete or ask me for the cash after I agreed again (after pics sent to me yesterday evening)

I made an agreement with you...you have something for sale..I agreed to the terms yesterday with Tuesday pickup...

[censored] move Doug...[censored] move.

I'm not upset that I lost out on a 455 I could have used...I'm pissed because you didn't honor your word.

That what [censored] stings.

But business is business right?

Your right Business is Business.
Although we keep talking about it at no Time did I ever say it was yours.
I had it listed other places and you were not the first person to respond.
We talked back & forth about it for about a week or so.
Again I never said it was yours.
The other person showed up first with cash in hand.

Is it not MY choice to send the money to you if you post items for sale? Absent what you believe I should do, your assertion was that I MUST inspect block and heads first and you refused payment. Mind you...this inspection revelation of yours didn't come until the 4th week after you posted the items for sale. If I want to pay you in full for something you have....and you refuse my money due to YOUR OWN PERSONAL FEELINGS, YOUR REFUSAL OF MY OFFER PAYING YOU IN FULL WAS CONTINGENT ON INSPECTING THE BLOCK FIRST. THAT CONTINGENCY YOU CHOSE SHOULD AT LEAST ACCOMMODATE A BUYER REASONABLE TIME TO INSPECT THE BLOCK AND HEADS...If your block and heads I found uncceptable...I am out on the money I sent...SIMPLE! I offered you the money for items you had as-is..why Doug? You said you needed the money for your engine build and I in good faith offered to send it ASAP in order for you to get that build going. Aside Doug, why send pics on Sunday then reply within minutes saying I would buy it yet AGAIN! (see the pattern here?).....How hard is that to understand? I offered to pay 9 days ago...I repeat (yet) again because I don't think common sense is a flower that grows in your garden....I offered to send you the FULL amount last week...I made 5 separate indications over the past 5 weeks that I wanted both and NEVER swayed. Another question...have you ever sold someone something here with or without pics? If so, they sent you payment correct? Did you require them to drive 3 hours to where you were to inspect or did you just mail it to them? Sans mailing the block/heads, why was sending you the money unacceptable? Why other than seeing the block different regarding this sale, yet acceptable for hundreds of other parts you've listed here?

You're right...the block isn't mine...yet I replied consistently and without delay to your PM's and emails, yet refuse payment and sell it the day before I agreed to pick up. Is your business model obtuse or that of a simpleton or lacking somewhere else? I don't mean to sound like a [censored]...but you really aren't the sharpest tool in the shed if that's how you do business with others.

A member here posted a wanted ad for an original Th400 dipstick and tube. I saw it and realized I had one and posted I would take $140 for it and we agreed. However...another member saw his post and my reply and he offered me 3 times the $140 via PM that day.
I don't have payment from member A...and member B offers me 3 times the $140. Well Doug...using your "modicum of business theory" that the engine and heads weren't mine...just as the dipstick and tube weren't his...I was honest about it and didn't screw a member over although I didn't have the money. How did I handle this? I honored my word of $140 and waited for the money to arrive. That is how you treat people.

I passed up a 428 4 bolt and 455 4 bolt over the past month making good on my word to buy it from you...that is why I am venting...and that's why I am pissed.

With that...Caveat Emptor....

Yes I refused your payment because I didn't want to accept your money and have you finally see the blk heads and for some reason back out of sale and all the while I would have to decline offers from other potential buyers.
This isn't some $20.00 item were talking about so you can't honestly tell me you would be o.k. being out the money.
As you said you let me know you were interested in blk heads 5 weeks ago.
Again 5 weeks ago and you never once came to see it and I even offered to take it to Flint & Lansing for your convenience (so you wouldn't have to travel so far and for whatever reason that did not work out..
So I felt that you were stringing me along.
Like my grandma used to say poop or get off the pot !!
I will tell you again that this is not the only board I had this for sale on and you were not the first person to respond.
I did not see your response saying you would come up Tuesday until after it was sold on Monday.
I do not have or want a smartphone so I am unable to see my emails until I get home.
I will refrain from insulting you personally.
