Been having a conversation with Dennis at Quality Restorations about redoing my deluxe steering wheel. Pictures look great and he gives a lifetime warranty with his work. It's expensive but original wheels in good shape are hard to find. Anyone worked with him before? Got his name from the Pontiac Oakland Club magazine. Thanks in advance....

I called and spoke to him some time back, but am struggling to justify the expense. I'm sure it will be as good as or better than new but...

Have you priced out Doug Lepak in Canada? He does an awesome job, and quoted me 750.00 to totally redo my standard wheel- not sure if a deluxe would be more or not. He has been in business for years and does some pretty top notch resto jobs on super expensive cars.

I will be sending mine in to him in the next couple months.

Here is his contact info:

Sleddog: I have seen Doug's web site. Looks like he repairs the wheel instead of recasting...not sure how that holds up but it looks like a good method. Trying to figure out how the fiberglass will effect the look and dimensions of the wheel when it's done. Let me know what you think when it's done......I'm still driving the car while the weather is nice and probably won't start anything until well into the winter months.. Got a pile of minor interior things to take care of...

I am wondering that myself, from the pics i have seen from his galleries you dont see a difference. I will post before and after pics and check dimensions as well. It may be a couple months, still finishing the inside of shop.

Mark,

How's it holding up? Did any cracks come back?

One small one that Doug is taking care of. Not sure what caused it, though.
