Hello guys,
I recently purchased a 1967 Firebird convertible. This is my first convertible and my first Firebird but not my first Pontiac. Over the course of the years I've owned a 69 Grand Prix, a 66 Lemans post car, and I currently still own a 67 Lemans hardtop. I just thought I'd drop in and say hi, and show you my latest driver/project. This is a 67 convertible Sprint, 4 speed car, though the current motor in it is a recently overhauled 326. The car is far from perfect, it has it's share of dents, dings, bondo and a little rust, but honestly for a convertible in this climate I think it's pretty solid. Floors and rockers are good, a bit of rust in the lower fenders and rear wheel arches. The car was the victim of a fairly poor paint and body job with a lot of obvious problems. I'd call it a good 50 footer! One of the motivating factors for buying this car was the incredible amount of documentation it came with. I got the broadcast sheet, the original sales invoice ($3301 out the door!) and bank loan papers, 30 years worth of registration certificates and a fair amount of owner history. The car also has the original warranty booklet, the Protecto-plate, owners manual and convertible top operating instructions. I'd say its a nicely optioned car with console, power top, rally wheels, custom trim package and rear antenna. I'm sure there's more but all my info is at home and I'm going from memory. The interior is black but it's mostly paint. It should be bright blue. My plans are to return it to it's original specs, minus the motor. I'll run the 326 for now. This car will be a driver, not a show queen. I intend to get some use out of it. smile One question I have at the moment - This car has a set of gauges and a clock at the end of the console. I was told by a friend that these are Camaro gauges. Does anyone know if they were ever installed in Firebirds from the factory or dealer?

From what you describe about the guages, I would say they are Camaro. Post a picture and we can confirm.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.

Welcome aboard! Looks like a great project.
Did you purchase from the original owner, or just extremely fortunate to get the documentation?
Does it still have the 4 speed?
More pics please!

Thank you guys for the warm welcome. Those pics are actually the pics from the craigslist ad and make the car look a tad better than reality. The gauges do look like Camaro but they look right at home in the car, so I think I'll keep them. It does still have the four speed in it, but the shifter was changed for a Hurst unit in the 1990's. I will get some more representative pictures up soon.

I wish I could say I bought the car from the original owner but I think I'm like number 6 or 7. I have 23 years of registrations from the original owner, looks like he sold it in 1990, then some registrations, bills of sale and a title copy for the next three or four, then a gap between 1999 and 2006 and then again from 2007-2012 when the guy I bought it from purchased it. He gave me all the records almost as an afterthought - as if they weren't worth anything!
In case anyone is interested here's the options list from the sales order from Eastway Buick-Pontiac in North Bend, WA (TEL TU 8-0612) smile
Power Top # 544
Custom Trim #554
Lamp Group #074
Sprint Option #332
Radio #342
Rear Antenna # 341
Console #472
Door Edge Guard #382
Rear Seat, Folding #654
Power Steering #501
Sport Steering Wheel #471
Rally II wheels #453
4 Speed Trans #77F
Gearshift Knob #524
It also specifies undercoat, no stripe, regular spare tire.
The original owner got a 4-1/2% loan rate and his payments were 118.53 per month.

That's a nice option list!

I'd say its worth way more as an original Sprint if you have all the parts to put her back together.
