I'm finally working on Dynamat installation in my factory floor pan '68. I laid the Trim Parts rear carpet section on the Dynamat covered floor pan and I'm concerned about how baggy the tunnel is. I played around with repop sound deadener pieces under the seats and the rear foot box but only made the tunnel fit worse.
I'd actually like to use some Dynaliner on the trans tunnel and front floor pans to cut down cabin heat.

Anyone install Trim Parts carpet. Any tips?

Thanks,
Dennis

Here are a couple of links to doing the carpet. On the second link this is a link directly to HaroldB's post about what he says his upholster does and his Trim parts carpet.
The third link is HaroldB's post about his carpet and underlay.

Thanks for the links. I remember the post. I searched and searched last night but couldn't find it.

I'm working on mine tonight. Don't know if I'll get it finished but if I hit any snags I'll let you know.

Dennis,
I finally got mine installed. That took way longer than I expected. Of course I found all kinds of other little problems & had to stop to fix them. My back section fit pretty good but the front section is very baggy on the tunnel at the very front. It's bad enough that I'm afraid the carpet might interfere with the gas pedal. I did NOT use any adhesive because all the interior has to come back out for some rust repair. Adhesive would probably solve my problems. Good luck on your install.

Thanks for taking the time to let me know how yours fit. I think my wife has a yoga that's going to go missing to help me figure out how much padding (Dynaliner) I need. Lol.
I spoke with a few people. Sounds like removing the padding from the carpet, spray gluing that down first, then fittting the carpet is the way to go. I need to install the headliner before I go much further.

Thanks,
Dennis

How did that work, Dennis? Gluing the pads down first is a good plan & when I "permanently" install my carpet I'll use that trick too, if it works good for you.

Sorry, been traveling a lot for work and haven't been able to work on the car other than fighting starter problems. I will Report once I get back to it.

Thanks,
Dennis
