When swapping an intake last summer I noticed some oil buildup/carbon on the backside of
my intake valves. Car runs well and only has the occasional puff of smoke at startup. Just
ordered a valve spring compressor and plan to pull springs and chk condidtion of seals and chk
if possible for wear in guides. What was the original seal configuration for the seals from the factory.
Have heard just O-rings on all valves and heard umbrella on intake and O-rings on all as well.
I deal with a local NAPA an they show two parts listed
SS13360 Felpro valve stem O-ring set 16 pieces
FPG SS13360 Felpro Oil seal set 8 pieces

Also read that some put shields and O-rings on all valves!!

these I believe are correct and just wanted any input from anyone who has done this before with
factory heads 16's.

Thanks
Gerry

Hi Gerry,

You don't want to use those old tech valve seals. They are easily buggered up when you put them in. Try these:

I'm double checking with my engine builder but I think we used these instead. Butler has everything you will need.

Have you considered doing a leak down test? That will tell you what is going on with removing any parts.
