I got this with my car and it's been sitting on the shelf for 7-8 years. What would a guy use this carb for?

That looks like one of the late 70s qjets right? Most were 800cfms. Think mine was a 75 or 76. Yours probably one of the last ones before they had computer hookups. I can't tel if yours is an " APT" model or not. I have to say I'm not such a fan because it's tough to figure out the correct spring strength to use( at least it was for me) but they are supposed to offer better cruise adjustability. Probably a good carb to use if it's setup right for a certain application.
