I recently swapped my ST300 over to a Saginaw 4 speed with a factory ITM shifter. One item I am noticing is the shifter is not centered in the console trim plate. It is closer to the right side of the plate by maybe 1/4".. Is this normal? It is not rubbing and works correctly but it has me a little concerned. Any pictures would be great.
Yep. I checked the frame rails to rocker distance. They look good. I mention this because I did replace the body bushings on the car. The crossmember appears to be shifted a little to the right, but I don't want to elongate holes until I know whether this is normal.
Can you post a pic? My guess is every car is going to be a little different and as long as it shifts fine don't sweat the bs. Better off trying to shift the console that the trans if it bothers you that much.
