I recently swapped my ST300 over to a Saginaw 4 speed with a factory ITM shifter. One item I am noticing is the shifter is not centered in the console trim plate. It is closer to the right side of the plate by maybe 1/4".. Is this normal? It is not rubbing and works correctly but it has me a little concerned. Any pictures would be great.

Is that the shifter that bolts to the cross member?

Yep. I checked the frame rails to rocker distance. They look good. I mention this because I did replace the body bushings on the car. The crossmember appears to be shifted a little to the right, but I don't want to elongate holes until I know whether this is normal.

Mine was replaced a long time ago with a Hurst. I've never seen an original 67 bird shifter.

Can you post a pic? My guess is every car is going to be a little different and as long as it shifts fine don't sweat the bs. Better off trying to shift the console that the trans if it bothers you that much.

Here you go. Two underneath and one with the trans in 4th gear. I am tempted to put a pry bar up there and tweak it over a 1/4".

I'm not sure what gear it was in when the pic was taken. Either reverse or 1st.
