Very rare NODULAR 8.2 1967 Firebird rear end out of a Ram Air 4 speed equipped car. Has attached FACTORY TWIN traction bars and external mounts. 3:55 rear gear. Look at the photos and notice the N cast into the housing on top. This is a very RARE nodular iron rear, 9788647, G83 safety track HD unit. This was an optional rear end in 1967, and it is likely you won't see another N markedFirebird rear end, ever. Equipped with TWIN factory traction bars, it was all business. Coded from the Pontiac UW on the axle tube, denoting its 3:55 gear ratio.
For reference, see The Definitive Firebird Trans Am Guide 1967-1969. Page 57 details how rare and desirable this rear axle is in a 1967 Firebird. The guide notes this rear has factory forged axles, nodular case, traction bars, etc...
This rear end will fit a 1967-1969 Firebird and Camaro, but only "numbers" correct in a 1967 Firebird. Also included are detroit speed single leaf to multi leaf adapter brackets and the u bolts and mounting hardware. We had this in a 1969 Firebird, although it was original to a 1967 Firebird.
