I have a 67 with a 326 manual transmission. I recently removed my starter to adjust my clutch fork adjustment rod. when I reinstalled the starter, my car has no power at the ignition switch. Nothing works, the lights or ignition. I only have the main power from the battery and the purple wire connected on the S terminal of the solenoid. The main battery cable does have 12.68 v, but the S terminal and the R terminal on the solenoid do not have any power. The seems wrong, should the S terminal have 12v on it and it goes to the switch? I think the purple wire is the main power coming into the dash. Could the solenoid be short out? Can I replace the solinoid or do I have to replace the entire starter?
Doesn’t sound like the problem is at the starter. The S and R terminals on the starter only have juice when you turn the key to start it. The big cable is always hot. You may have fried or disconnected the main power to the fuse box
