Hey guys, trying to get some ideas for adding gauges for basic health checks, but have no idea what kind would look good in a 69 bird.
Funny, I'm an excellent Google searcher in general, but I find searching this site really difficult, so apologies for asking a question that may have been answered a hundred times already.
In short, can somebody recommend a 2 or 3 gauge cluster (temp, oil, volts?) for a Firebird coupe in 69 vintage?
Thanks!
1969 Firebird, 350-2v/350, Verdoro Green (?), Green vinyl, numbers matching, relatively unmolested. Needs a bit of everything.

I use Auto Gauge by Auto meter, But most any brand gauge set works good, I use the 3 gauge set, water temp, oil pressure, and volt meter. Volt meter is better and easier to hook up than an amp guage. I prefer the mechanical type of gauge, but it is a little harder to install, as you have to run flex lines for them, electrical guages are a little easier to install, as you only have to run wires to the gauges from the sending units. I mounted my guages below the ash tray.

Hey Wade, I PM'd you, but in case anybody is reading this...wondering how you got the faux "wood grain" on your autometer gauge cluster. I can only seem to find white/black/chrome. Did you buy some applique and rig it up yourself?
Opinions and other ideas welcome.
Tom

I sent you a message back. But I don't remember where I got it from , it was like 30 some years ago I got it , I just put these gauges in it. One thing you might try is, see if Ames Performance Engineering still has the woodgrain decal for the consloe and use that to cut and fit on a 3 hole mounting bracket https://www.amesperf.com/

I used individual gauge cups and made a mounting bracket.
Thanks, Dennis
