Would be oh so grateful to see an up-close image of a working Parking Brake handle; how it connects to the gear/release mechanism in particular.

The rod and handle on my bird is completely gone and I'm looking for options. Could replace the whole mechanism, but it's $90.

Look at Firebird Central parts. Parking brake control The middle pic is what you want.

Thanks brother! I'll see if I can fabricate something. A screw-driver isn't the sexiest solution, but it's what I've been using.

And thanks for the response on the A/C stuff. When I figure out where this car is heading, I may put all this A/C stuff back in.

Always check Franks Pontiac Parts.Franks Stuff comes and goes quickly but since you are in Cali you may get lucky. And like I said, AC was rare in our cars. If I had it I would restore it. You already have the hard to find parts like the ductwork and controls. A rebuilt compressor, new evaporator, new condenser, all are easy to get.
